The third hymn in the series alludes to the traditional interpretation of the root of Saint Brigid's name as 'bright':
HYMN IN HONOUR OF ST. BRIGIT.
HYMN IN HONOUR OF ST. BRIGIT.
BRIGIDA NOMEN HABET.
Resplendent is great Brigit's name
Like flash of diamond bright!
Resplendent is great Brigit's name,
Shining in heavenly light!
A virgin of the Lord is she —
A virgin crucified;
A virgin of the Lord is she,
To His Cross closely tied.
